The Area

Things to do in Egham

Just a 3 minute walk away from Podiums front door is Royal Holloway University of London, it is the first choice of accommodation for many students due to the proximity to university. With the Founder's building featuring in many films and TV series, the RHUL building is instantly recognisable.

The famous Ascot racecourse is a short journey away, and is home to one of the biggest sporting events in the world, Royal Ascot as well as events such as British Champions Day and the Shergar Cup. The Royal Ascot is the centrepiece of Ascot's year and every year, is attended by Queen Elizabeth and other members of the British Royal Family.

River Thames

Located just a short walk away, the River Thames offers miles and miles of country walks, from the untouched landscape of the Cotswolds to the hustle and bustle of London. Along the pedestrian and cycle paths that accompany the river, you can find some of the best pubs England has to offer, serving up traditional english food, topped off with an ale (or two).

Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park is not for the faint‑hearted. It has Steealth, Europes fastest rollar coaster and the rides here are built to scare. It is perfect for adrenalin junkies and thrill seekers who are looking for something to get the heart racing. Thorpe Park also hosts Ministry of Sound club nights from April to September as well as its famous Fright Nights events throughout halloween.
